About Me

Hi there, I am Dustin Nielsen. I'm from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. I am working currently as a freelance web/software developer.

I am also currently continuing my education at the University of Regina, with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Economics. I have half a year left on my degree, so almost done and won't that be exciting.

I've been coding for roughly 7 years now, from Grade 10 to where I am now in my life. I take great pride in what I write and believe strongly in writing beautiful code that others can pick up and read and understand in 15 minutes or less.

I have been doing freelance consulting now for 3 years. Varying between web site development, online web applications, and software based applications. I develop primarily with PHP and MySQL, utilizing a framework called CakePHP. I am also skilled with Javascript, C#, and C++, as well as lesser known languages such as Scheme and Max/MSP.

I am actively growing my reportoire of skills and always interested in applying those skills to new and interesting projects. I'm a large fan of doing new things, both for the learning experience and the challenge.

If you are interested in talking to me about a website or application you want for your business or for personal use feel free to contact me. I also love collaborating on projects with others, some of my projects include building my own full-sized arcade cabinet and a multi-touch table that manipulates audio in real time.

If you want, you can also view my resume located here. It's in pdf format so you should be good at viewing it from anywhere including online if you so choose.
